Parents in Korea - Day 8 (독립문 [Dongnimmun] / 삼청동 [Samcheong-dong])

Parents in Korea - Day 8
2014.05.17 @ 독립문 & 삼청동

The seventh day of our trip was spent in 수원 [Suwon], so photos didn't really happen. We visited my neighborhood, my work, and the fortress. On the eighth day, we went to the Seodaemun Prison Museum. Unfortunately, I accidentally deleted most of the photos from the prison, but I have all the photos from after that tour. Right outside the prison is 독립문 [Independence Gate] and Independence Park. There was a big demonstration concerning the 세월 [Sewol] Ferry. We jumped on the subway after that, and we had food and drinks in 삼청동 [Samcheong-dong] and paid the 북촌한옥마을 [Bukchon Hanok Village] a visit. I don't have photos from their last day either, but we went to a baseball game and spent some time eating delicious food, 열탄불고기.

삼청동쭈꾸미 - Excellent Kalguksu [칼국수] Restaurant in Samcheong-dong [삼청동]

삼청동쭈꾸미
2014/04/06 @ 삼청동 [Samcheong-dong]

It was a beautiful day, and I met up with Alexandra. We went for a stroll around town, and ended up in Samcheong-dong. I hadn't been to this restaurant in quite some time. If you're in the area, I definitely suggest stopping by 삼청동쭈꾸미 [Samcheong-dong Jjukkumi]. Get the 칼국수 [kalguksu], and I promise you won't be disappointed. You can get it with beef or clams. Both are fantastic. Plus, after you eat, you can get a free coffee from the window outside. Just show them your receipt.

( If it's not too busy, you can sit on this balcony. The windows are uncovered in the summer. It's a really nice place for a meal. )

Modern meets Traditional in 삼청동 [Samcheong-dong]

삼청동 [Samcheong-dong]
3014/03/16 @ 삼청동 [Samcheong-dong]

Now that the weather is getting nicer, I've been doing my best to get outside as much as possible on the weekends. After watching some hockey with friends, Alyssa, Ryan & I headed out to 삼청동 to meet Erik. We tracked down a little tea house, but the wait to get in was pretty long, so we just wandered around and had a few beers. It was just nice to walk around and enjoy the sun.
