The Big Chill 2015

IMG_0957

The Big Chill
2015.01.31 @ 수원 [Suwon]

We don't go to the Big Chill very often, but when we do, we usually have a good time. When we arrived in late January, we were able to watch the exciting conclusion to the Asian Cup Finals between Korea & Australia. Unfortunately, Korea lost in overtime. It didn't stop us from having a very good time.

Celebrating the Session Break
2014.05.30 @ The Big Chill in 수원 [Suwon]

After most three-month terms at work, we get a session break, a three-day weekend. Last term was no different. On a Thursday night, after work, we had some great fried chicken. Then, we followed it up with drinks at The Big Chill.

Christmas is a Four Day Holiday in Korea

( Ice Skating at 시청 [City Hall] )

Quiz Night
[ 12/22/2011 @ The Big Chill in 수원 (Suwon) ]

My four days of Christmas fun began at the Big Chill in Suwon. We attended the Christmas Quiz Night. Although we were not the point winners, we did manage to score the most points per person. We only had four members, so our slightly smaller score rewarded us with a round of tequila shots. It pays to have a small team when each player is skilled.

Christmas Eve Eve
[ 12/23/2001 @ 주락 in 수원 (Jurok in Suwon) ]

We had a nice time out on Friday in the neighborhood. We met a lot of friends at Jurok for drinks. We also made a new friend, Bear the giant stuffed dog. This was Simon's project. The blog post about his adventures is wonderful. Please take a look. After drinks at Jurok, Justin & Paul got into a great snow battle on the way to 노래방 (Noraebang). We sang for a couple hours, drank some more, then I finished out the night by having drinks and chicken with 지혜 (Nikita), and went home around 6am.

Christmas Eve
[ 12/24/2001 @ 주락 in 수원 (Jurok in Suwon) ]

In the afternoon, I met Chelsea, Justin & Tim in 이태원 (Itaewon) for a Mexican dinner and ice cream. This location didn't make it into the description, because there is only one photo from 이태원. After this, I headed back to 수원 for yet another night 주락. It was a pleasant night of friends, drinking, singing & games.

Christmas Day
[ 12/25/2011 @ my apartment in 수원 (Suwon) & Seoul Plaza at City Hall (시청) ]

On Christmas Day, we had a big family style potluck dinner. While I was preparing my dish, Paul & Tim showed up to start the day right with shots of whiskey at 11:30am. A couple of shots down, the crowds arrived for Christmas dinner. We had plenty of food, and it was a really nice substitute for a regular family Christmas. After food, wine, sangria, beer, holiday eggnog, cheesecake & more whiskey, we headed out to 시청 for some ice skating. It really was a pleasant way to celebrate the holidays.
