Yongsan's Sketch Video Game Mart
How to get there, in photos.
This place is amazing! It's underground, it smells funny, and it's totally loaded with any possible piece of video merchandise you could hope to have. Whether you in the market for an N64, a Sega Genesis, a PS VITA, or a hacked Nintendo Wii, they have it! You can get anything from an NES to Pokemon figurines. The troubling fact is, it's impossible to locate. Follow these directions, and hopefully, you'll find it and learn to love it as much as I do.
NOTE: If you're looking for cameras, TVs, computers, or accessories, follow these directions and take pitstops and check out other floors along the way. Yongsan is an adventure in electronics.
( Take Seoul Subway line 4 and go to Sinyongsan Station [신용사역]. )
( Leave the station via Exit 3 )
( Walk straight along the metal wall for less than a minute. )
( When you reach the corner, you will see a collection of soju tents across the street. Turn right here. )
( You will see Yongsan Station [용산역] across the street. )
( Walk to the station. )
( As you approach the station, you will see a large set of stairs with an escalator to the left. )
( Go up the escalator. )
( When you reach the top, you will see these doors. Go through them. )
( Head to the back of this large half-outside, half-inside room. )
( When you reach the back of the room, you will notice a hallway on your right. )
( Turn right, here. )
( You will see this skywalk, off to your left, immediately. You are about to walk through this. )
( Turn left through this doorway. )
( It will take a minute or two to reach the next building. )
( Keep walking. During the day, there will be vendors lining this walkway. )
( You will see these doors at the end of the hallway. )
( Walk through these doors and turn left immediately. )
( You will walk past a number of video game, computer, and camera shops. )
( This will be your first opportunity to turn right. Don't turn here. Wait for your second right. )
( The second opportunity to turn right leads to this stairwell. Walk down to the ground floor. )
( From the stairs, this is what the ground floor looks like. Walk towards the door at the far end of the room. )
( Walk through that exit door. )
( When you get outside, you will see this glass structure. Walk past it to the left, towards the "P" sign hanging on the streetlight. )
( Walk toward that tent/store near the center of the picture. )
( At the corner, you will see this street heading up the hill. Follow the road up hill, sticking to the right. )
( Walk past this cafe/restaurant & bootleg DVD shop. )
( You will see this entrance on your right. This is the VIDEO GAME MART! )
( Just to be sure. You should see this giant PS VITA sign hanging above the door. [BE WARNED: This sign changes sometimes.] )
( Walk through these doors... )
( and down past the Assassin's Creed III signs... )
