설날 [Lunar New Year] Snowboarding at Phoenix Park

This year, for Lunar New Year [설날], we packed up our bags and took a trip to the mountains. The timing worked out perfectly for us to take an evening bus on Thursday night out to 강원도 [Gangwon-do]. The bus only took about two hours because of the lack of traffic at night. When we arrived at 위닉스파크 [Phoenix Park], Mr. Sim was there waiting for us. He ran a really nice little cabin pension complex called 심스캐빈 [Sim's Cabin]. We partied the first night in our cozy cabin, then on day two, we spent the day snowboarding. The slopes were super icy, but it was still a fun time. Erik even came out for the evening session. After falling time after time, we headed back to the pension to sleep off the pain. All in all, it was a killer trip.

How to get to Phoenix Park:

Visit the Phoenix Park website and you can book a seat on a bus to take you out there. I believe it's 10,000 won each way, but you don't have to pay in advance. You can pay on the bus. They have buses that pick up all over Seoul & Gyeonggi-do.
