Suwon Walk

Suwon Walk
2015.04.12 @ 수원 [Suwon]

After I bought my new camera, I took every opportunity to go out and play with it. On a Sunday afternoon, I went for a nice long walk from my home out to Suwon Station [수원역].

On that walk, I stumbled upon an abandoned neighborhood, but I was quickly kicked out by some sort of security guard. I tried to get in from a different point, but was once again shoed away. I'll try to go back another time.

Here are some pictures from that day.

팔달문 시장 [Paldalmun Market] in 수원 [Suwon]

2014/04/19 @ 수원 [Suwon]

After getting some good food at 화로구이, we took a little walk to 팔달문 시장 [Paldalmun Market]. It's a lot like many other traditional markets, where you see a fair amount of street food, shops with traditional clothing and herbs, and many many clothing stores. It's nice, because it's conveniently located in the middle of the fortress; from here you can easily visit the wall, chicken street, or 남문 시장 [Nam-mun Market].

My suggestion is to go out Exit 4 and hail a taxi. It would be less than 5,000won to go by taxi to Nam-mun. If it's a nice day, follow this map and go for a walk.

2014/04/19 @ 수원 [Suwon]

This week, I will be focusing on Suwon. Ryan & Alyssa came out on Saturday, so we went down to the fortress for some exploring and food. This is one of the best 삼겹살 [Samgyeopsal] restaurants I've been to. The marinade the pork belly in honey, sugar & garlic. It's crazy good. If you're ever sightseeing at the fortress, walk down into 남문시장 [Nam-mun Market] for some shopping and excellent food.
